Overview:
Selkirk College’s Tech for Students: IT Services Computer Giveback Program is an initiative designed to support students by providing access to free, gently used computers. Recognizing the financial challenges many students face, the program refurbishes legacy lab computers, ensuring they are equipped with basic software for student use.
How it Works:
When Selkirk College computer labs are upgraded, the older computers are made available for the Student Giveback Program. These devices include a desktop computer, monitor and Windows 10 operating system. These systems are given out “as is”.
Students in need of a computer can apply through the program’s online application form.
IT Services receives and reviews the applications and contacts students to arrange computer pickup dates and times. No walk-ups to ITS Helpdesk will be allowed.
The only eligibility criteria are that students are currently enrolled in a course or program at one of our Selkirk College campuses and complete the online application to apply.
