📢 Printing is changing this fall – here’s what instructors and staff need to know to support students.

Starting Fall 2025, we’re shifting away from having a printer in every computer lab.

• Castlegar B Wing will be the first to move to this model.

• Printers will be located in hallways or common areas.

• These central devices will be PaperCut-enabled and support student card login.

Everyone starts with $0 in print credits

To help reduce student costs and promote sustainability, please consider:

• Accepting digital submissions of assignments and projects

• Sharing handouts or notes through Moodle, SharePoint, or email rather than printing

• Encouraging students to check their PaperCut balance before printing

All student lab computers are configured to use "FindMe" as the default printer.

"FindMe" is the name of the printer students choose from the print menu — just like they would choose “HP LaserJet” or “PDF.”

Once students select “FindMe”:

• The job is held securely in a virtual queue

• They can release it at any PaperCut-enabled printer on any campus by scanning their ID card or logging in

• They only print when they’re ready to pick it up
