October 29, 2025 - Microsoft Issue

Microsoft is currently experiencing a global issue that affects single-sign-on services.

You may not be able to log in to Unit 4, VPN, Citrix, or other services.

IT Services is upgrading network infrastructure from Noon till 1:00 PM on Monday, Oct 27, 2025, VPN Login will be affected during this time.

Completed Urgent firewall and VPN upgrades

VPN service will be offline for 30 minutes while we apply an urgent update. VPN Anyconnect client will also be updated on reconnection. this upgrade will start at 10:30am PST.

Completed IT Services will be performing maintenance on the Student Record System (SRS) on Wednesday, August 21st, 2025 from 6:30 PM PST to 6:45 pm PST. SRS will be unviable during this time.

CompletedIT Services is upgrading network and server infrastructure at Castlegar campus on Tuesday Aug 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM PST to 8:00 PM PST.

Network services will be impacted including access to W Drive, classroom/lab computers, on campus network connectivity to Selkirk services, internet access.

Wi-Fi access will be available during the outage.

Completed - IT services will be upgrading the network switches in Monashee, Kekuli, Gym, telco & A wing. The outages will be only be around 10 minutes. The telco switch will impact phones for about 10 minutes. We will start @ 2:00PM and be done by 4:00 PM

Completed Silverking Campus Student Housing network maintenance is scheduled to occur on Apr 7, 2025from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM PST. Wired and wireless network connectivity will be disrupted throughout Student Housing.

CompletedMar 6, 2025 to Mar 31, 2025 IT Services will be completing upgrades to networking infrastructure in Castlegar Upper-/Lower O-Wing and the Pit including:

Hallway Work (Starting March 6-7): We will add two additional paths from upper to lower O-Wing floors. This will necessitate drilling during these two days. The hallway connecting between east and west will still be accessible and we will attempt to minimize any disruptions.

Hallway Work (Starting March 8-31): We will begin by pre-installing network cabling in the hallways, with effects to minimize disruptions in these areas. Installations will occur starting in the East, ending in the West. 

Office Work (Starting March 17-31): To install new data drops, some office furniture, including desks, may need to be temporarily moved. Minor disruptions within offices in the affected areas are expected.

Bookstore, Welcome Center and Gathering place upgrades will be scheduled starting May 19th to 31st for upgrades.

RESOLVEDJan 15, 2025 Some disruption to Internet & Network services are being experienced on the Nelson 10th Street Campus, Mary Hall. IT Services is investigating the root cause. Please connect computing devices using Staff-Selkirk wireless until the issue is resolved.

CompleteRoutine router software maintenance by our service provider is scheduled to occur on Saturday Dec 28, 2024. Internet connectivity may be disrupted sporadically throughout the day.

CompleteDec 3, 2024 Emergency repairs are being conducted by our fiber provider to fiber infrastructure. Internet connectivity will be sporadically be disrupted between 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PST during repairs.

CompleteNov 27, 2024 IT Services will be upgrading Citrix resources this Wednesday 27th from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM PST. Citrix resources (citrix.selkirk.ca) will be unavailable during the upgrade.

RESOLVEDNov 25, 2024 Due to an unexpected Microsoft outage, Outlook, 365 and Teams are experiencing disruptions. Microsoft has reported that users who tried to access Exchange Online or functionality within the Microsoft Teams calendar have been impacted. ITS will continue to monitor this issue.

CompleteNov 29, 2024 IT Services has scheduled a network outage at the Trail Campus. Wired and Wireless services will be unavailable from 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM.

CompleteNov 24, 2024 IT Services is scheduled to perform major upgrades to Citrix. Citrix services will be impacted and unavailable from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

CompleteWiFi services at all campus locations may experience an outage on Nov 13, 2024 between 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM PST due to scheduled network maintenance.

Complete WiFi services at all College campus locations will be upgrade on Oct 18, 2024 . The SC-Staff network will be replaced with Staff-Selkirk. Faculty and staff should use Staff-Selkirk to connect their College devices to the wireless network.

CompleteWiFi services at Trail campus will be upgraded on Oct 11, 2024 . The SC-Staff network will be replaced with Staff-Selkirk. Faculty and staff should use Staff-Selkirk to connect their College devices to the wireless network.

• SC-Staff WiFi access

IT Services is working to restore access to these services.

Aug 12, 2024 Trail campus - Friday, August 16th, there will be a brief campus network and internet outage in Trail while we transition to the new switching equipment. The outage is scheduled for noon, from 12:00 PM PST to 1:00 PM PST.
