Tech For Students: IT Services Computer Giveback Program
Overview:
Selkirk College’s Tech for Students: IT Services Computer Giveback Program is an initiative designed to support students by providing access to free, gently used computers. Recognizing many students' financial challenges, the program refurbishes legacy lab computers, ensuring they are equipped with basic software for student use.
How it Works:
When Selkirk College computer labs are upgraded, the older computers are available for the Student Giveback Program. These devices include a desktop computer, monitor and Windows 10 operating system. These systems are given out “as is.”
Students needing a computer can apply through the program’s online application form.
IT Services contacts students to arrange computer pickup dates and times. In-person requests or walk-ups to ITS Helpdesk cannot be accommodated. Please apply using the form below.
The only eligibility criteria are that students are enrolled in a course or program at one of our Selkirk College campuses and complete the online application to apply.
Applications are temporarily closed but check back soon for updates on when we will accept new requests.
This program exemplifies the college’s commitment to student success and environmental responsibility, ensuring that no student is left behind due to lack of access to technology.
