Accessing Public WiFi
Wireless Internet Access
Network Name: Public-Selkirk
The “Public-Selkirk” Wi-Fi service allows Guest users to connect laptops and other wireless devices to the Internet on our Castlegar, Nelson, Trail and Grand Forks campus locations.
Staff should be connecting to Staff-Selkirk, Students should be connecting to Students-Selkirk Wi-Fi
How do I connect?
Follow your device manufacturer's operating manual instructions to connect to "Public-Selkirk WiFi" at any of our College campus locations.
Once connected to our WiFi you will be greeted by a Selkirk College branded “Click-through Splash Page”. Please read the Terms of Service (ToS) and select “Continue to the Internet”.
What if I cannot connect?
Please update your Android, iOS, Windows, MacOS or Linux operating system as per your device manufacturer's instruction manual and try again.
Try forgetting the Wi-Fi netlwork
How to forget a Wi-fi network on your Iphone:
Detailed Steps:
Open Settings: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Go to Wi-Fi: Tap on "Wi-Fi".
Find the Network: Locate the Wi-Fi network you want to forget from the list of available networks.
Tap the Info Button: Tap the "i" (information) button located next to the network name.
Forget the Network: Tap "Forget This Network".
Confirm: Tap "Forget" again to confirm that you want to remove the network from your saved networks.
How to forget a Wi-fi network on your Android:
Detailed Steps:
Open Settings: Access the Settings app on your Android device.
Navigate to Wi-Fi: Find and tap on "Network & internet" or "Connections" and then "Wi-Fi".
Locate Saved Network: You'll see a list of saved Wi-Fi networks. Find the one you want to forget.
Forget the Network: Tap and hold on the network name. A menu will appear. Select "Forget," "Forget network," or a similar option.
To forget a Wi-Fi network on Windows 10 or 11
go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi,
then select Manage known networks.
In the list of networks, click the network you want to remove and select the Forget button.
To forget a Wi-Fi network on a Mac,
go to Apple menu > System Settings,
click Wi-Fi in the sidebar, then scroll to the "Known Networks" section,
click the more button (three dots) next to the desired network, and select Remove from List
Please reboot/restart your device and try again.
