Introduction to Citrix

Citrix allows Selkirk College students, faculty, and staff to access a virtual Windows computer or specialized application on their own personal computers securely from anywhere (on and off-campus) and from any platform (Mac OS, Windows, Chrome OS, Linux, etc.) using the Citrix Receiver and Workspace applications.

Note: Citrix server is based on Windows, meaning that non-Windows users may need to use Windows keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Ctrl+C instead of Cmd+C) while using the applications.

Citrix resources should not be used to circumvent regional restrictions (e.g. accessing content from countries with restricted access to local content. Please contact the content source for exemptions.)

Registering for Citrix Access

Student

Access to Citrix virtual machines (VMs) is based on your program registration. All registered students will have access to the General Purpose and General Purpose + RRS VMs. Other specialty programs have their own VMs assigned on their program registration. If you do not see any available VM groups, please submit a heldesk request at https://selkirkcollege.atlassian.net

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and Staff have the same access as above.

Citrix Workspace app is the easy-to-install client software that provides seamless, secure access to everything you need to get work done. With the Citrix Workspace app you easily and securely get instant access to all applications, desktops and data from any device, including smartphones, tablets, PCs and Macs.
  1. Install the Citrix Workspace application.
  2. Launch the Citrix Workspace application.
  3. If this window appears, DO NOT ENTER YOUR EMAIL, just check the box "Do not show this window automatically at logon" then click "Close".
